With National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) in full swing during the month of October, we are seeing and focusing on employment-related resources set to assist people in need. The above-noted webinar, which is funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), is set for Monday, October 12th, 3-4:30 pm ET, and will be covering a variety of subjects around the fostering and retention of competitive, integrated employment for people with disabilities.

Per the ACL:

The webinar will highlight the contributions of individuals with disabilities by demonstrating how a Center for Independent Living in a rural area and Council on Developmental Disabilities has paved the way to advance competitive, integrated employment (CIE) for people with disabilities. Additionally, we will learn about a self-advocate’s journey to competitive, integrated employment, and how they contribute to an employer through having a ‘can-do’ attitude and hard work ethic.

Presenters: Michael Leyva, Contracts/Grants Coordinator, Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council Sierra Royster, Youth Programs Coordinator, Association of Rural Independent Living Sarah Bair, Youth Transition Coordinator, Central Washington Disability Resources
